Vision & Values
Knowing Jesus to make Jesus known.
“I have come that they may have life and have it to the full.” (John 10:10)
Vision – To know Christ and to make him known.
One Mission – To be a healthy church with one mission to grow healthy disciples who grow healthy disciples by balancing seven purposes in the life and activities of our church community.
Seven Purposes – The way that we become a healthy church and make healthy disciples is to balance the seven purposes: Worship, Teaching, Prayer, Community, Ministry, Mercy, Evangelism.
The Bible describes the church as a body, a living organism. It is natural for living things to grow when they are healthy, and health comes from a balanced life. A key to this idea of seeking health and not growth is found in the idea that growth comes from God and not from us.
This theme of God being responsible for the growth does not mean that we do nothing. After all, Paul did plant and Apollos did water! We are commanded to ‘be still and know’ and to ‘remain’.
Instead our responsibility as disciples is to seek a healthy life of discipleship with God, Father, Son and Holy Spirit, which balances His seven purposes for us of Worship, teaching, Prayer, Community, Ministry, Mercy, and Evangelism both as individuals and in our church life and ministry. By doing this we create a ‘New wineskin’ ready for God to pour in the new wine to be discipled as we are able.
